Golfers Play Through Man Flu

On Friday 29th December our members braved manflu and played the maze golf course. Micky McMahon claimed his was a 9 out of 10 looked for sympathy but nine was forth coming as member after member claimed they were in worse shape than micky. Martin McNiece self medicated with a combination of Whiskey, Hot Water and Cloves in liberal quantities his golf was not up to scratch but he was the happiest man on the course. Denny McInerney phoned from his sick bed to make his excuses and register a score of 42 points which he felt he would have achieved with his new Adams irons, As his membership was not up to date his request was refused.

Micky McMahon and Paul Lavery played a side match against Marcel (Muscles) Murray and Ian Mulholland. Paul and Micky must have thought the money was in their pockets being 4 holes up with 5 to play up stepped Muscles with his red hot putter and sunk putts of over 20 feet on the next four holes to make the match all square with one to play. As fate would have it he needed another long putt on the 18th to win the match, when he sank the putt it was not advisable for two twenty stone men to jump up and do a high five. The green at the Maze is now lopsided.

This was our first outing of the season and 26 golfers competed despite the manflu outbreak 6th place Marcel Murray. 5th Place Michael Purdy. 4th Place Paddy Lavery 3rd Place Paul Lavery (Manflu 6/10) 2nd Place Micky McMahon (Manflu 9/10) 1st Place Michael Lavery (Manflu 7/10).
