With only two outing left on this years calendar only the elite of the society competed in the penultimate outing at Kilkeel on Sunday for player of the year points.
At the finish there were only a few points between the top six with Raymond McCann returning a fine score of 39 points on a very difficult course. Ian Mulhollands 6 points for second place moved him into first place by 1 point and with Marcel Murrays 1 point for 6th place he is in second place.
Six players have a chance of winning player of the year on the last outing at Moyola in September.
The current leader Ian will have to improve on the meltdown he endured the last time at Moyola.
Is it possible to have a meltdown again, the odds are shortening all the time.
