The Development Committee has worked diligently to put a development plan in place to address both of these needs. Phase 1 started on 8th March 2004 and will see the football pitch and its spectator and player facilities transformed. On completion we will have a field complex of a very high standard. A facility suitable for all our teams, and for our visitors and spectators as well.

Once Phase 1 has started, we will turn to Phase 2. This will involve the replacement of the youth club facilities at the Lake Street with a new purpose¬built complex. Our target will be to complete Phase 2 before our centenary year in 2010. This will serve the needs of the youth club for the next fifty years.

Clann Eireann were described as 'trail-blazers' in the GAA back in 1954 when the youth club was established. The press described the development of the youth club as "the transformation of a GAA club into a truly community-based club". A model followed throughout the length and breadth of the island. In 2004 we owe it to those who had the vision to start the youth club to carry that legacy forward into the new millennium, for the benefit of our club, our young people and our community.

This development programme is going to be a challenge. It will require many hours of hard work within the club. We will be relying on you for support. But the goal is an honourable one; it is both a necessity and achievable for the future development of Clann Eireann Youth Club and by extension, the wellbeing of our young people. We can do it together. We dare to dream!

Many of the club's facilities are in need of refurbishment or replacement after years of constant usage.

A two-phase programme is being developed:

Phase 1 Started early 2004. Re-development of the football field at Kilwilke. To include:

New drainage system
Refurbish the playing surface
Provide a new perimeter fence to playing area
Provide an all-weather training area, to include a training wall Modify spectator banking
Construct a spectator stand at North Circular Road side Extend the changing facilities in the pavilion Provide space for a fitness suite in the pavilion Provide full flood-lighting for the pitch Provide new toilet facility for spectators.

Phase 1 will take approximately 2years to complete.

Phase 2 Review state of facilities at Lake Street. Replace current youth club buildings with a new sports hall and ancillary facilities.
