Senior Ladies at Donaghmoyne

The Senior Ladies suffered the heartbreak of losing their Ulster Senior Championship Semi Final to current holders Donaghmoyne, last Sunday.
The home team settled into the game very quickly and went six points in front before Clann Eireann registered their first score. The team did come into the game in the last 10 minutes of the first half and managed to pull the score back, as they went in at the break 6 points to 3 down.
However, the second half was something similar to the first with Donaghmoyne dominating early proceedings, only to have Clann Eireann put in a strong finish. The Monaghan team probably just deserved their passage to the final with some fierce tackling and a few excellent scores from their No.14., being the highlights of their game. Our Ladies, although bitterly disappointed at the final whistle, will undoubtably look back on this match and know that there isn't a whole ball of difference between the two sides. All the players give it everything and this experience will do the younger members of the team a power of good.
To be able to play the semi final at home was an obvious bonus for Donaghmoyne and even having to forgo playing in their normal club colours was another disadvantage to Clann Eireann.
We won't mention 'Next Year' but rather say that the joy of winning the Ulster Title will definitely take place in the not too distant future.
