Our outing at Cairndhu golf club was a challenge for all our golfers with high winds and hills that needed oxygen half way up and super slick greens. Most of our golfers have the latest gizmos to help their game, GPS systems that inform you that it is 62 feet 6.5 inches to the pin. The bunker is 59 feet 4.5 inches on the left. The wind is from the northeast and a 6 feet deep crocodile invested river runs along the back of the green. Another aid is personalised golf clubs to suit your game. A psychology sports expert you can get you in the zone before your game. Bobby our only pensioner has none of these aids just years of craft and experience to rely on.
Your GPS can’t tell to keep the ball under the wind (Bobby knew that), it doesn’t tell you the ball runs further down hill (Bobby knew that), it doesn’t tell you to pitch short on slick greens (Bobby knew that). it doesn’t tell you on slick greens the putter needs a soft touch (Bobby knew that).
You may have guessed by now that old silver fox BOBBY FAY was the winner by a comfortable margin, Beating Mr Gizmo himself CONOR McCONVILLE into second place, the BIG EASY IAN MULHOLLAND was third, STEVEN HEANEY was forth, MICKY McMAHON was fifth. RAYMOND McCANN was sixth.
Shot of the day was played by our nearly pensioner. His tee shot went through a GOLF BUGGY that was parked carelessly off the tee box but still ended up with a par.
In the Social Club after the game liquid bribes were offered and accepted not to reveal their scores on this website. So in the best traditions of our hero RUPERT MURDOCH.
MR MAGNETIC KNEES 21 PTS
MR HALF CORONA 24 PTS
MR I CAN BEAT ANYBODY 26 PTS

OUR NEXT MATCH IS AGAINST ST PETERS GAA ON SUNDAY 27TH THE SCORES WOULD NEED TO IMPROVE IF WE ARE TO WIN 3 YEAR RUNNING.
